Peace Building Officer (1 based in Biratnagar):

International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization, desirous of furthering humanitarian and development activities in Nepal. IRC aims to save lives, strengthen institutions and promote social cohesion.

Peace Building Officer (1 based in Biratnagar):

The Peace building Officers will support the youth peace building component of IRC's Youth project in the Eastern Terai. He/she will be IRC's focal point in districts of operation and will regularly liaise with partner NGOs, government officials, and other key stakeholders. He/she will be responsible for regular monitoring and the quality implementation of the youth peace building portion of the project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily management and implementation of project at the district level
• Program Monitoring, Training, Capacity building and technical support of partner agencies
• Representation and Coordination.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's or Mater Degree in Social Sciences, Education or relevant field
• Strong technical knowledge in the above mentioned area.
• At least 2 years of experience working on the above relevant programs.
• Experience working with communities, government officials, and key stakeholders
• Ability to build relationships with people of various ethnic, caste and religious backgrounds and people in government roles
• Ability to translate between English-Nepali preferred
• Other language abilities preferred: Maithili, Tljaru, Bhojpuri
• Dynamic, motivated, takes initiative, creative
• Able to work in a diverse team, but also independently.
