Development Management Specialist

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

Psychosocial counselors (Ten persons based at Jhapa)
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Psychosocial care and support
• Undertake vulnerability assessments for resettlement candidates referred by UNHCR and IOM.
• Screen and assess referred cases.
• Provide individual, family and group counseling as needed.
• Facilitate other group interventions e.g. classroom based intervention, community resiliency groups, other types of support groups (e.g. recovering alcoholics.)
• Refer individuals and families in need of a higher level of mental health care to AMDA.
Supervision

• Provide supervision to the 6-month counselling trainees during their refugee camp placements.

Project coordinator

TRANSCULTURAL PSYCHOSOCIAL ORGANIZATION (TPO) NEPAL is a leading Nepali NGO working on psychosocial research, intervention design and implementation, capacity building and service provision. TPO was established in 2005, and has a staff of 52

TPO Nepal is UNHCR’s implementing partner for psychosocial care and support in the Bhutanese refugee camps. Factory Floor Manager

NGO working in Nepal for Innovative shelter related activities is seeking for an experienced professionally qualified and energetic Factory Floor Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for overseeing the ongoing processes of the factory.
• Estimating / ordering and stockpiling the needed raw materials (mats, resin, coal, diesel, oil, preservation chemicals e.t.c) and tools for the factory.
• Planning daily factory shift details: arranging personnel and assigning tasks
• Supervising daily factory production with respect to quality efficiency and solving any problems that emerge.
• Ensuring that the workers are focused and diligent in their tasks.
• Regularly going over safety, and quality concerns and mitigations with workers.
• Scheduling regular machinery maintenance (electrical and mechanical) and arranging any repairs needed.
• Planning factory work far enough ahead to take into account power cuts, potential bandhs and incoming mat flow (storage will be needed in certain seasons when mats are not being woven or cannot be transported).


QUALIFICATIONS:

This person must have extensive industry management experience. They need to understand the importance of each step in the production line, the consequences of failure of each step and mitigation measures in case of failure. They need to have prior experience in electrical and mechanical work in connection with production supervision to understand and maintain production efficiency. The purchasing officer, mechanic and electrician will be responsible to the FFM and thus he or she needs to understand the machinery and systems well enough to give sound guidance to them. The FFM should come from an industry, the critical factor must be industry management experience with a good understanding of machinery, electrics and most importantly be able to plan and run an efficient production line. Fluent in English Language is essential.

The Helvetas Nepal Programme Director leads the strategic development and effective implementation of the Helvetas Nepal Country Programme.
