Design, Monitoring, Evaluation (DME) Officer (1 based in Nepalgunj):

International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization, desirous of furthering humanitarian and development activities in Nepal. IRC aims to save lives, strengthen institutions and promote social cohesion.

Design, Monitoring, Evaluation (DME) Officer (1 based in Nepalgunj):

The DME Officer will be responsible for developing a monitoring and evaluation plan for the Governance and Protection program. He/she will work closely with the Program Manager on project strategy development (ie. Log frames). Additionally, he/she will develop databases when needed, enter/compile data on program beneficiaries into the database, train IRC and partner staff on monitoring forms and database usage and provide monthly statistical updates to the Program Manager on a monthly basis.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a monitoring and evaluation plan for the program
• Contribute to the development of indicators in program designs and evaluation plans (ie. Logframe)
• Enter and compile data for the program.
• Organize and keep filing system for beneficiaries' cases for the program.
• Develop monitoring forms and train IRC and partner staff on them.
• Analyze program data and contribute to advocacy briefs and program documents
• Provide monthly statistics updates.


PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Social Sciences or similar preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of developing and managing databases (ie. Access, Excel).
• Knowledge of DME strategies. Research experience a plus.
• At least 2 years of experience working on database or DME.
• Experience training on DME and/or database.
• Ability to translate between Nepali-English required.
• Dynamic, motivated, takes initiative, creative.
• Able to work in a diverse team, but also independently.
• Willing to travel to project sites as necessary.
