Education Officer (1 based in Nepalgunj):

International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization, desirous of furthering humanitarian and development activities in Nepal. IRC aims to save lives, strengthen institutions and promote social cohesion.

Education Officer (1 based in Nepalgunj):

The Education Officers, based in Nepalgunj, will each support IRC's Education project in the Mid Western Terai. He/she will support IRC's partners in providing teacher training and educational opportunities to vulnerable children. Further he/she will support the capacity development of government resource persons, teachers and School Management Committees. The Education Officer will be IRC's focal point in the districts of operation of the region and regularly liaise with partner NGOs, government officials, and other key stakeholders. He/she will be responsible for regular monitoring and ensuring the quality implementation of the project.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily management and implementation of project at the district level
• Program Monitoring, Training, Capacity building and technical support of partner agencies
• Representation and Coordination.


PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's or Mater Degree in Social Sciences, Education or relevant field
• Strong technical knowledge in the above mentioned area.
• At least 2 years of experience working on the above relevant programs.
• Experience working with communities, government officials, and key stakeholders
• Ability to build relationships with people of various ethnic, caste and religious backgrounds and people in government roles
• Ability to translate between English-Nepali preferred
• Other language abilities preferred: Maithili, Tljaru, Bhojpuri
• Dynamic, motivated, takes initiative, creative
• Able to work in a diverse team, but also independently.
