Account Officer

DFID established Community Support Programme (CSP) in Dhankuta in 2004 to provide basic services to the poor and socially excluded communities mainly in six districts of Eastern Region of Nepal. CSP would like to invite applications for the post of Account Officer based in the Dhankuta office.

At the capacity of Account Officer, the incumbent will be responsible to supporting accounts management of the Programme Management Office. Particularly, s/he will be responsible for making payments, keeping daily record of receipt and payments, keeping batik account updated, reconciling bank account, preparing monthly account, etc. S/he will also be responsible in making project procurements. In addition to the day to day general accounting works, the incumbent will be partly responsible in facilitating communities' users committees and community based organisations in making their records updated and providing training on record keeping and social/public auditing process.

We are interested in people who have proven competencies and track records on: analytical thinking and judgement, communicating and influencing, working with others and organisational and financial awareness

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

♦ Bachelor degree in management or accountancy with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in community development projects/programme
♦ Ability to communicate in English and Nepali both orally and in writing
♦ Good computer applications skills


There will be attractive salary and benefit package commensurate to qualification and experience. The successful candidate will be contracted for one year.
