Project Manager for Chanuti
CARE Nepal invites application from interested candidates for the following positions for CHUNAUTI Project and JANSEEP Project.
Chunauti Project:
The aim of this project is to raise women's status by addressing harmful traditional practices that cause gender based violence such as Child Marriage. It is working in the districts of Dhanusha, Mohattari and Rupandehi. This project has started from October 2008 and will end in September 2011. These positions will be based in Janakpur and preference will be given to Women, Dalit and Madhesi candidates.
Project Manager (1 position)
The Project Manager will lead the Chunauti project. S/he will be responsible to coordinate and ensure implementation of overall project activities and ensure achievement of project outputs. S/he will establish and strengthen relationship with government, NGOs at community, local and national level. The Project Manager will serve as the point person for the donor. S/he will be fully responsible for all communications, coordination and reporting to the donor. S/he will supervise technical staff of the project and will report to Area Program Manager of the cluster.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
• Experience in managing USAID and/or any other key donors.
• Experience on gender based Violence, rights based approach and child rights.
• Good experience on partnership management and staff supervision.
• Knowledge on behavioral and change communication and social mobilization.
• Basic knowledge on legal provisions and relevant Nepal's policies.
• Experience in coordinating and networking with local NGO, government and private sector.
• Excellent report writing, facilitating and communication skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Masters degree in any Social Science subject or any other relevant field.
• Five years experience in gender, child rights and women rights field.
• Excellent English writing and speaking skills; knowledge of Maithili and Awadhi language will be an added advantage.
