Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (1 position)

CARE Nepal invites application from interested candidates for the following positions for CHUNAUTI Project and JANSEEP Project.

Chunauti Project:

The aim of this project is to raise women's status by addressing harmful traditional practices that cause gender based violence such as Child Marriage. It is working in the districts of Dhanusha, Mohattari and Rupandehi. This project has started from October 2008 and will end in September 2011. These positions will be based in Janakpur and preference will be given to Women, Dalit and Madhesi candidates.

RESPONSIBILITY:

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (M&EO) will help in the establishment and the proper implementation of an effective monitoring, evaluation and learning systems in the project. The person will be responsible for preparing, implementing and revising the monitoring plan for the project. S/he will lead the task of carrying out baseline survey, and the project evaluation events. S/he will also explore, pilot, document and disseminate innovative ideas and good practices, lessons learned. S/he will work in close relationship with the community people and partners and document the learning of the project.


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:


• Sound knowledge on project monitoring and evaluation.

• Good report writing and analytical skills in both Nepali and English.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Knowledge of partnership principles and experience in partner's capacity assessment and monitoring.

• Experience in preparing, and editing of project level documents like brochure, manuals, and lessons learning documents.

• Skills in training, capacity building, data analysis and interpretation.


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:


• Bachelor degree in degree in statistics, sociology, economics or any other related subject.

• At least two year experience in research, monitoring and evaluation and documentation preparation in the similar field.
