Project Manager (1 Position)
CARE Nepal invites application from interested candidates for the following positions for CHUNAUTI Project and JANSEEP Project.

JANSEEP Project:

JANSEEP project is funded by European Union and has been implemented jointly by CARE Nepal and Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationality (NEFIN). It is a five years project (started from February 1, 2007) and working area are Dhanusa and Dolkha districts. The project aim is to enhance economic and livelihood opportunities through empowerment and policy advocacy for highly Marginalized Janajaties in proposed districts. Given the nature of project and partner organization this position is reserved for Janajati group where preference will be given to women candidates.


This position will be based in Kathmandu.


RESPONSIBILITY:

The project Manager will work closely with NEFIN (Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities) and will be responsible for providing programmatic and strategic guidance to the project. S/he will lead project efforts in networking and advocacy at the district as well as national level in coordination with NEFIN and other institutions working on issues of Janajaties. S/he will ensure project accountability and overall monitoring and reporting of project progress to donor, partners and participants. The Project Manager will work as the member secretary of Project Management Committee, which is responsible for providing overall management support to the Project, which includes facilitation! monitoring and the evaluation of the process of project implementation.


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:


• In depth understanding of Nepali Janajaties, their issues and related policies.

• Knowledge and experiences on poverty and its linkage with social dynamics, including caste and ethnicity.

• Strong communication, coordination, networking and partnership skills.

• Experience of project resource management and donor reporting.

• Familiarity with the RBA, Policy/Advocacy and on a program approach.

• Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment.


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:


• Masters degree in Social science or any other relevant subject from recognized institution.

• At least 3 years of project management experience.
