Handicap International (HI) is an international organisation working for the prevention of disability and the physical and social rehabilitation of people with disabilities. HI is a non-political and non-religious organisation, with its headquarters in France, 25 years of solidarity. HI is inviting applications from qualified professionals for the following positions:
Technical Officer
The Technical Officer will be responsible for providing direct technical support and guidance, on-the-job training, capacity building and field support to project partners and for monitoring the smooth and quality implementation of the project at community level; within the project team, s/he will contribute with technical advice, analysis and initiatives for efficient daily operation of the project and optimized impact for people with disabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant Bachelor degree in occupational therapy, social care or community development & social inclusion with at least 3 years post-graduate experience
• Experience in disability and support to people with disabilities, preferably in an NGO/INGO;
• Strong will and demonstrated capacity to transfer skills and develop competencies at community level; experience in training and monitoring would be a strong asset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in both English and Nepali)
• Reporting, time management and practical organisation skills; Adaptability and flexibility are very important, with a high level of motivation and an optimistic, constructive and dynamic approach;
• Excellent team player, with a positive and enthusiastic mindset and loyalty towards the project, team and organisation.
CONDITIONS, SALARY & BENEFITS:
• All position are based in Handicap International Programme Office, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, with up to 50% travel in rural areas of Nepal.
• Attractive salary and benefits package; Duration of the contract is 1 year (6 months for the "Surgery" Manager), renewable.
