The goal of the project is to improve the overall health status in Dolakha, Ramechhap and Okhaldhunga districts, with special focus on remote areas and disadvantaged groups. The project is seeking for a qualified and competent candidate for the following position:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the overall supervision of District Project Coordinator, the CHO will facilitate the process of community empowerment and community action for health to improve the health status of district population. Guiding values, principles, approaches and activities defined in the project document and Yearly Plan of Operation is integral part of this assignment. The incumbent is mainly responsible for facilitating the implementation of activities under the responsibility of District Health Office and its internal network up to the grass-root level. Specifically the CHO will be responsible to:
• Coordinate with District Health Office.
• Collaborate with DDCA/DC, District Education Office/Schools, and relevant line agencies for successful implementation of Community Health Programme.
• Monitoring, Supervision and follow-up of management of Health Programmes at different levels.
• Facilitate designing and conducting training to Health Facility Operation and Management Committees.
• Facilitate designing and implementing locally suitable drug schemes at community, sub health post, health post, Primary Health Centre and district hospital level.
• Facilitate/Conduct Workshops, seminars and training.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
• Bachelors in Public Health or Bachelors in Nursing in Community Field.
• 5 years professional experience in the field of community health.
• Willingness to work in remote parts of the district with more than 75% time in the field.
SOCIAL COMPETENCIES:
• Sensitivity and experience in the areas of gender and social inclusion.
• Able to work independently and under pressure.
• Networking, negotiation and communication skills are essential requirements.
• Ability and willingness to work in a team.
• Capable of adjusting into a multicultural team.
• Good understanding of the Local context and conflict sensitivity.
