Program Transition Coordinator (PTC)

CARE Nepal invites applications from interested candidates for the position of Program Transition Coordinator at Country Office.

The Program Transition Coordinator (PTC) is responsible for ensuring that Kathmandu based projects contribute to CO's vision mission and goals. The PTC will report to ACD and will be responsible to provide strategic guidance and leadership to Kathmandu based project managers and ensure that Kathmandu based projects have strategic integration and synergy with other projects based in clusters in order to make a significant contribution to reducing poverty and social injustice within the relevant cluster. The PTC must also ensure that appropriate systems, process and staff are in place to ensure the proper management of the projects. S/he will work closely with, and is supported by all project / program support units at CO and cluster levels, as well as with other relevant CARE International members. The PTC is a key member of the Country Office Organizational Management Team and as such may be required to lead and support CO initiatives. S/he is responsible for maintaining good working relationships with host government officials, donors and other partners.

The duration of the position is for 3 years and it is based in Kathmandu.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge and experience in strategic management issues
• Familiar with current national and international development requirements, practices, policies and key players
• Knowledge and experience of staff management in development organizations
• Sound understanding of technical programming approaches coupled with a deep understanding of underlying causes of poverty and social injustice
• Strong knowledge and experience in project/ program design and development
• Knowledge and experiences on program strategy development and goal setting
• Strong conceptual and strategic thinking and analytical skills
• Excellent writing, documentation and learning skills
• Strong ability to work in a team and coordinate tasks and responsibilities
• Experience in successfully managing institutional partnerships with national and international NGOs
• Good interpersonal skills with experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with donors and government counterparts
• Strong understanding of GED and a commitment to address the issues therein.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

1. Master's Degree in Sociology/ Economics / Development Management and/or other related fields.
2. Al least 8 years experiences in the development sector, specifically to program development and implementation.
3. At least 5 years experience in senior management position/function with INGOs or other relevant organizations.
