United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is looking for dynamic, results-driven Nepalese citizens for the following positions in its office in Kathmandu and Biratnagar:

Successful candidates will be expected to provide substantive contributions to humanitarian action, including mobilizing and coordinating effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors in order to: (i) alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies; (ii) advocate for the rights of people in need; and (iii) facilitate sustainable solutions.

Coordination/Administrative Assistant - GS5 - One Post – Biratnagar

Support OCHA sub-office colleagues in regional information and humanitarian coordination initiatives. Duties include: Support the office in organizing inter-agency field visits; Prepare translations; Act as an interpreter when required; Support logistics for visiting missions; Administrative, logistics and petty cash management.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR COORDINATION/ADMIN. ASSISTANT:

Completion of Higher Secondary School (Intermediate) in the relevant field. Minimum of 3 years work experience in relevant field. Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely in English and Nepali. Familiarity with the region and command of local Language is an asset. Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel. Proven high-level representation skills. Proven team-working skills.
