Technical Assistant (Internships)

The objective of SSM-P is to improve the food security and livelihoods of rural farming families in bari-dominated farming systems in the mid hill districts of Nepal through the promotion of Sustainable Soil Management (SSM) practices.

SSM-P invites applications from B.Sc Agri. graduates for the above positions: there are 3 vacancies which are open only to women, dalit, janajatis and other ethnic minorities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Following a period of familiarization and training in Kathmandu to acquaint with SSM-P's operational procedures and with the sustainable soil management practices, the positions will be based in the three SSM-P clusters (far west, west, and east of Nepal). 75% of time will be spent in the field, working at the SSM-P cluster offices and with rural farming households and collaborating organizations.

REQUIREMENTS: A recently completed B.Sc. degree in Agriculture; no previous work experience is required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The duration of the appointment is for a maximum of 1 year. SSM-P provides a stipend according to the programme's rules and regulations.
