Project Engineer

CARE Nepal invites application from interested candidates for the respective positions of the mentioned below projects:

Nepal Government Citizen Partnership (NGCPP) project:

The aim of this project is to help the Government of Nepal immediately re-establish legitimate and effective security and governance in Nepal's districts to combat the potential of a fractured Nepal. This position will be based in either in Biratnagar or Itahari. The duration of this project is two years. Preference will be given to women, dalit and marginalized group candidates.

Project Engineer: (1 position)


RESPONSIBILITY:

The Project Engineer (PE) will be responsible for the management and support to the project component. S/he will be reporting to the Chief of Party of NGCP project. PE will be responsible for preparing annual plans, budgets, target achievements and component supervision, monitoring, and reporting. The PE will provide guidance, coaching and mentoring support to the component staff through appropriate feedback mechanism. S/he will train /orient to partner's staff on group strengthening at local level for the implementation and management of project activities. S/he will be responsible to coordinate with project partners and government line agencies in the project areas.


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

♦ Knowledge and experience on program planning, implementation and monitoring/evaluation.
♦ Good understanding on the concept and process of good governance.
♦ In-depth and detailed understanding of social dynamics and conflict management
♦ Experience in construction or rehabilitation of small scale community infrastructure
♦ Good written and oral communication in Nepali and English
♦ Good knowledge, skills and experience in leadership and team building.


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

♦ Masters Degree in civil engineering
♦ 5 years of experience in development field, specially in infrastructure development.
