Behavioral Change Communication Specialist

CARE Nepal invites application from interested candidates for the respective positions of the mentioned below projects:

Chunauti Project:

The aim of this project is to raise women's status by addressing harmful traditional practices that cause gender based violence such as Child Marriage. It is working in the districts of Dhanusha, Mohattari and Rupandehi. This project has started from October 2008 and will end in September 2011. This position will be
based in Janakpur and preference will be given to women, dalit and madhesi candidates.

Behavioral Change Communication Specialist (1 position)

The Behavioral Change Communication Specialist (BCCS) will design implementation of interpersonal communication through peer educators. S/he will be responsible to design and implement communication through mass and group media. The BCCS will also ensure the capacity building of NGO partners to undertake the BCC and social mobilization components of the project.


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

♦ Experience in developing and implementing behavioral change communication strategy.
♦ Experience in engaging with public and private sector & mass media agencies.
♦ Experience of capacity building on social mobilization.
♦ Knowledge of developing various communication aids including audio, visual and print.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

♦ Masters in social science, mass communication or relevant subject.
♦ 3 years experience in managing implementation of social mobilization and behavior change communication program.
