ARD, Inc., a US-based international development firm, is poised to start technical activities related to the USAID-funded Nepal Government Citizen Partnership Project (NGCPP). ARD, Inc. is recruiting for the following positions:

Local Governance Advisor (This is a Terai based position with some travel to Kathmandu)

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years experience in direct program management of district and municipal development projects with an emphasis on capacity building, decentralization services and local governance. Work experience should demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Nepal's current government systems and experience working with Ministries and DDC and VDC structures. Substantive experience in working/implementing governance activities in rural Nepal with such experience primarily in local governance and capacity building.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities: a) work with local government officials to enhance service delivery systems, b) assist and support local government officials to plan, design, implement and manage infrastructure activities in coordination with the MoLD and local government offices, and c) work with DDC and VDCs to strengthen development planning, budgeting and community reconstruction.

Bachelor's degree and strong professional-level English written and verbal skills are required. Familiarity with the Terai region and local languages are greatly preferred.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

For all above positions a high level of fluency in English written and oral communication skills and good knowledge in MS Office applications are required. A strong knowledge of the Terai region and local languages is preferred. Local candidates from the Terai region are urged to apply.

Compensation will be in accordance with project pay scales and commensurate with relevant experience.
