Senior Project Manager

Planete Enfants, French INGO, working in Nepal to build the capacities of actors involved in combating exploitation andviolence against women and children, is now recruiting the following candidate:

Senior Project Manager
The project, concentrating its benefits and services in Dang, Rolpa and Salyan districts, is aiming at empowering women against domestic violence and trafficking and strengthening their economic situation.


CONTRACT DURATION: 3 months probation period — annual contract extension upon satisfaction.

DUTY STATION: Kathmandu (with regular field visits to Dang, Salyan and Rolpa).

STARTING DATE: 1st April 2009.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

1 Overall management of the project, including financial aspects;
2 Ensure effective and on-time implementation of project activities as per the work plan;
3 Prepare regular financial and narrative reports;
4 Undertake regular field visits to assess project's progresses;
5 Build the capacity of the implementing partner;
6 Attend the monthly Pilot Committee and report to the Country Director;
7 Maintain good relationships with implementing partners and stakeholders.


QUALIFICATIONS:

1 Advanced university degree or extensive experience in the relevant field;
2 Previous experience with European Commission founded project is mandatory;
3 Strong experience in project management, implementation and monitoring;
4 Experience in income generating activities an asset;
5 Experience in building capacity of NGO within NGO-INGO partnership;
6 Excellent writing and communication skills in both Nepali and English;
7 Experience in proposal writing (EU, USAID, UN)
8 Computer literate (word, excel, internet)
9 Ability to manage budgets;
10 Ability to respect deadlines;
11 Deep understanding of women and children's rights issues;
12 Strong team spirit and motivation;
13 Honesty.


OTHERS:

1 Excellent knowledge of the Nepalese network
2 Ability to represent the Organization.
