Position: Intern Social Development Officer

LILI/Helvetas; supporting rural communities in Achham, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Kalikot, Dolakha, Ramechhap and Okhaldhunga Districts to improve income and food sufficiency of marginal and small landholders through the support of technical appropriate & socio-economic equitable Farmer Managed Irrigation Systems (FMIS), invites Nepali youths from marginalized and disadvantaged groups to apply for its internship Programme aiming to engender interns to become competitive in the job market through exposure to activities by the Programme in rural hill areas.

Position: Intern Social Development Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Stepwise social mobilization activities to the supported Users Committees (UCs)
• Establishing linkages with concerned government agencies to access agriculture input & services for the supported FMIS.
• Capacity building of user communities, local service providers and resource persons on construction, management and maintenance of the supported FMIS.
• Effective & equitable contribution & distribution of benefit sharing system and maintenance of transparency
• Knowledge of development through collecting qualitative data for case studies and writing reports.


QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

- Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Social Science or Equivalent
- Willingness to work in Farmer Managed Irrigation Systems (FMIS) in rural areas and with diversified team members
- Knowledge of gender and social inclusion
- Sensitivity towards conflict, poverty and culture
- Good oral and written communication skill both in Nepali and in English
- Willingness and attitude of learning
- Knowledge of computer application including use of Microsoft packages.


DURATION OF INTERNSHIP: One Year

DUTY STATION: Kalikot, Jajarkot, Ramechhap or Okhaldhunga District.

BENEFIT PACKAGE: Interns are provided with monthly remuneration as per rules and regulation of Helvetas Nepal for interns as well as travel & field allowance.
