Development Management Specialist

USAID/Nepal invites applications for employment from all interested and qualified US citizens/Green card holders for the position of Development Management Specialist in the General Development Office, under a Personal Services Contract subject to availability of funds.

OPEN TO: US Citizens/Green card holders
POSITION: Development Management Specialist, GS-11
OPENING DATE: December 22, 2008
CLOSING DATE: January 09, 2009
PERFORMANCE PERIOD: Initial one (1) year, with an option to extend for up to additional four (4) years, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and the continued need for the position.
WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week


BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

USAID has a requirement for a Development Management Specialist to assist with a variety of development management responsibilities in support of the effective and efficient implementation of USAID activities.

All work of Development Management Specialist will be performed in a manner that incorporates mentoring and coaching in order to strengthen the internal capacity of the Mission and the management and technical skills of the Mission’s long term staff.

* U.S Citizen local hire Personal Services Contractors (PSCs) are eligible for FICA, health insurance and life insurance in accordance with the Agency policy. Local hire Contractors are not eligible for any other fringe benefits.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: All applicants are instructed to address each selection criterion detailed below:


1. Must be a U.S Citizen or green card holder.

2. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required.

3. Experience:
o At least 3 years experience related to the requirements in the SOW.
o Working on Interdisciplinary and/or multi-cultural team environments.
o Fluency (level IV) in spoken and writing English.
o Strong Interpersonal Skills.

4. Must be able to research USG regulations and apply them to job situations.

5. Must have knowledge of Commodity inventory practices

6. Must have knowledge of team building, mentoring, and coaching.
