ARD, Inc., a US-based international development firm, is poised to start technical activities related to the USAID-funded Nepal Government Citizen Partnership Project (NGCPP). ARD, Inc. is recruiting for the following positions:

Junior Engineer (This is a Terai based position)

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years experience in direct program management of district and municipal development and/or infrastructure programs. Work experience should demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Nepal's infrastructure and experience in working/implementing small-scale infrastructure activities in rural Nepal.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities: a) identify damaged community infrastructure activities in consultation with communities for rehabilitation and rebuilding, b) assist and support subcontractors, local NGOs, local A&E consultants to plan, design, implement and manage infrastructure activities following prevailing firms and local practices, c) identify and select local sub-contractors/NGOs/consultants for design and delivery of infrastructure activities.

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and strong professional-level English written and verbal skills are required. Familiarity with the Terai region and local languages are greatly preferred.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

For all above positions a high level of fluency in English written and oral communication skills and good knowledge in MS Office applications are required. A strong knowledge of the Terai region and local languages is preferred. Local candidates from the Terai region are urged to apply.

Compensation will be in accordance with project pay scales and commensurate with relevant experience.
